Argo is a 2012 American historical political espionage drama thriller film directed by, produced by, and starring BenAffleck. BenAffleck's film Argo tells the bizarre story of how in 1980 the CIA - with Canadian help - sprang a group of Americans from Iran after they escaped a US embassy overrun by protestors. Director: BenAffleck. Genre: Drama, Thriller, History, Biography. Release year: 2012. Plot Summary – Badly Explained. CIA uses Hollywood magic (and a terrible sci-fi movie) to distract some Iranians so six Americans can sneak out of Canada’s house. Tony Mendez (BenAffleck), a CIA exfiltration specialist brought in for consultation, criticizes the proposals, but is at a loss for an alternative. Ben “Goebbels” Affleck believed that American audiences wouldn’t sit through a film where Canadians led and American followed. Instead of making Saving Private Ryan 2, this time it’s even less historical, he decided to mold history into a convenient bit of action-drama called Argo. The CIA sets up an operation to get the six hostages out of Iran, which involvesCIA operative Tony Mendez (BenAffleck, who also directed the film) posing as a movie producer who is making Argo, a science-fiction film hot on the heels of the success of Star Wars. The 'caper' involvedCIA agents Tony Mendez - played by BenAffleck in the 2012 film Argo - and his colleague known as 'Julio' joining the six diplomats in Tehran to form a fake film crew - purportedly finishing location scouting for a scene in a science-fiction flick called Argo. It's so simple to forget that he won an Oscar for writing, and that both him and Matt Damon actually have more substance than they're often given credit for. His current… Affleck’s version involves every conceivable complication known to a man. And he does this for only one purpose, to make the movie more exciting. Which is fine, but it’s a bit over the top, even for my taste for I am the sucker for American clichés. 6/10 I hada weird reaction as I watched "Argo" (2012). The longer the film went on, the more I became convinced that things didn't go the way that events was depicted in the movie, but also the more I enjoyed the film. Quite suspenseful! BenAffleck continues hitting them out of the park. Based on a true story, Argo re-enacts the events that freed American foreign service employees from their hideout in the Canadian Embassy. The setup involvesAffleck's character, Mendes...
